I could use some of the leftover blue, but I want the YELLOW! Where is it?? I had it in my hand, I got interrupted while straightening the sewing studio (don't you love how I call it that?) and now I cannot find it ANYWHERE! Frustrating - I have looked everywhere I can think of. I KNOW as soon as I cut the blue fabric for binding, I will find the yellow and the blue will be wasted!!! Argh!

We went to Zion National Park on Friday and Saturday and it was great! We hiked the Emerald Pools the first day (I am out of shape) on Saturday, we went back and took the tandem, we biked all the way up the canyon (17 miles, round trip), it was so fun! It wasn't even that hard, although I noticed when we stopped that Mr. Good-looking was seriously mopping his brow, he was sweating so much, I was hardly sweating at all - I think, maybe he works a little harder than I do on the old tandem. (It was a seriously fab birthday present, it's the gift that keeps on giving!) We took a little hike at the end and ate our lunch in the sunshine - a beautiful day! Here is our sweet ride, all ready for the trip home last night:When we got home, we got to see all of our "close by" kids, it was so nice!
Love the condo, love being back home - and we came home to this:
Yippee! It's officially spring in my yard!

top: "Where are we going?"
bottom: "Why are we in a handbasket?"
(Mr. Handsome didn't get it - here's a hint, honey - the answer is 'hell')

On Saturday, Grandpa took The Boy to Lowe's to get a spark plug for the lawn mower and some more sand for the sandbox. He is hoping that when he shows him how to pour it in, etc. that he will no longer want to flip the whole sandbox over and spill all the sand all over the patio. Babygirl NEVER spilled more than a little sand, but Shaun dumped the whole thing over when he was 1! He joined the "Lowe's Little Builder Club" or some such thing and got these great goggles and cute apron.
Maybe I'll go and bake some muffins...

(Sorry it's sideways, it's not sideways on my computer.) I know you all want to make it too, so run out and buy an issue. It's rated "intermediate" - I hope I qualify. My only problem is that I have about 12 projects currently going, not counting the 2 tops I have to quilt in the basket plus the round-robin row quilt that is due on Thursday...

My only issue with it, is that it's also called a 'stash buster'. For cryin' out loud, it's only about 16" square, so maybe if you're Barbie, it would bust your scrap stash, it didn't make even a tiny dent in mine! This is pretty much the 'before' AND 'after' of that 'stash-bustin' quilt.I will be donating it to the Utah Quilt Guild Mini Quilt Fundraiser in October. I used to wonder what people did with mini quilts, then at my friend, Jacque's house, I saw that she had several tacked up in her laundry room - way cute!
P.S. - Random thought - I was watching a (boring) basketball game with Mr. Handsome last night and noticed that nearly all of the sweaty/arm pit-hairy players were covered in tattoos, many of which looked like whole sentences! Since I can't even decide what pithy saying to put on the beam over my kitchen bar in vinyl lettering - I could NEVER think of what I would want tattooed on my body until the end of time - so I guess I won't be getting a tattoo any time soon. (I will also keep shaving my armpits).
