Oh, What do you do in the Summertime?

This is what we've been up to these days...
Picking raspberries...

Playing with grandbabies...

Blessing the newest grandbaby, enjoying out of town family...

And the regular family too! It's now officially hot and I will be hibernating for the rest of the summer, preferably in my cool basement, quilting!

Father's Day

I am down in Ca, visiting my father for Father's Day. In church today, the lady who spoke finished her talk with phrases her father said that made her smile, so Heidi and I listed the ones we could think of:
1. Do you think money grows on trees?
2. This IS the celestial kingdom! (When discussing church)
3. What's the worst that can happen?
4. In round numbers...
5. Don't they know who you are? (After we complained about being mistreated, etc.)
6. The Mugleston's got it. (A large family in our ward that my mom often gave no longer needed items to)
7. She went mad and I shot her. (In answer to "where's mom?")
8. There will be a small fee or We'll add that to your bill (When people come to dinner, etc. and say thank you)
9. Don't trust anybody.
10. All the heat is blowing out the windows!
11. Who left all these lights on?
12. It is better to be a few minutes late in this life, than a few years early in the next.
13. Put a screw in it before you change your mind.
14. Be careful out there, remember, everyone out there is an a__hole!
15. You can't go!
16. The place was so small you could swing a cat in it and hit all four walls!
17. A dog... 2 sh--s a day, that's 14 sh--s a week, 56 a month..., if you get 2 dogs, that's 4 sh...

Various comments on unattractive people (usually in old movies):
I've seen better legs hanging out of a nest.
She could haunt a house.
Teeth like gravestones.
You could throw him for a dart.

I am so grateful for my dad and all he has done for our family over these many years. I am grateful for my wonderful husband too. I love them both very much, they are great examples of fatherhood!
P.S. Master Benjamin Hunter has also shown himself to be a great father and I love him too!

The Parade...

Denise did a fun float in the Orem Parade on Saturday. Danny built the cool house (It will be living at Grandma Sommers' house permanently), @ Home rented Segways and so did Shane and Becca. It was fun to see them. If you click on the picture below, you can see Babygirl waving as hard as she can from the front window of the house. (Click on 'back' to get back to the blog):

Brooke and I took the Boy and the Teeny Babygirl to a friend's house to watch the festivities.
Here are Shane and Becca, thrilling the crowd with their maneuvers. (I didn't get a pic of the 5 Segways in formation.) We had the Segways all weekend, so I got to try one on Sunday, it was fun - a little scary, but fun. On Saturday night, Doug rode one to Macey's and rode it right in the store, got his ice cream and checked out, without getting off. Shane said, "Did anyone say anything about it?". Doug: "No, I just acted like it was normal". (Can you say, Arrested Development?)Babygirl is a "real Utah child", she was in a parade at 3 years old. I'm from CA, and the only parade I knew about was the Rose Parade, until I moved here.

Wow, he did it!

I just got back from picking Stacy up in St. George this afternoon. He rode his bike from Delta to St. George - in two days. He came home and got right in the jacuzzi! (213 miles - 1 flat tire, 1 night spent in the Armory in Cedar City, & many, many ibuprofens):
He went with his friend, Sergio Avila, from work. It is mostly a group from South Jordan and they actually rode 3 days - from the South Jordan Temple to the St. George Temple, they've done it for several years now. Stacy says I am going next year - we'll see.

Here is Austin Nicole Hunter (August 16, 2005)
Here is Natalie Jane Hunter (May 13, 2009):
What do you think?

Deliciousness...

Stacy made a delicious lunch today...
He cooked up some tortillas from Costco (the kind that are uncooked when you buy them):
He spread on a little garlic and herb goat cheese (Macey's) , then mayo, then he layered on some of the herb roasted turkey breast (Costco) and drizzled some Winger's Amazing Sauce (Macey's) and put on plenty of fresh green leaf lettuce. He wrapped it up and stuck a toothpick in it to hold it together- delicious!!! (I would post a pic of a "done" one, but we ate them all!)
