Stacy and I took a fun, quick trip to Colorado this past weekend. We had never been, and since we now live "next door", we thought it would be fun to go. We did a lot of driving and enjoyed the scenery and each other. (Okay, and wonderful food, too! We went to my very favorite restaurant The Yardhouse in Denver and we also went to The Texas Roadhouse, anther fave). Here is me, posing with their wonderful chocolate/banana creme brulee - to die for!
We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in Grand Junction and it is now our favorite hotel. When we checked in (and out) they opened this magic cookie warming drawer and gave us each a warm chocolate chip cookie in a cute little paper bag. Delicious!!
On the drive to Grand Junction, we went to the "Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park", it was gorgeous! (Stacy is never too shy to ask perfect strangers to take our picture)
We took a bike ride in Grand Junction, along the Colorado River.
Here is Stacy, making like a bird:
We're back now, and Shane is gone for two weeks (with Becca's family) - so it's like we're still on vacation!!! (Oh, yeah, we did listen to John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" while driving through the Rockies - just livin' the dream!)
